It started with a swipe…

Avery and Brandon’s love story began in October 2021, when they matched on Tinder. After a few weeks of texting and FaceTiming, they finally decided to meet in person on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Brandon arrived in his white Honda SI to pick Avery up—a moment that impressed her, given her past experiences with men who barely had a driver’s license, let alone their own car.

As Avery got into the car, she greeted him with a playful, "Hi, my name’s Avery. Want to take a dab with me?" Brandon immediately let her play music, and they drove to Castle Island in South Boston for their first date. The location held special meaning for Avery, as it was where she had spread some of her parents’ ashes.

They both felt that there was something truly special here and wanted to make the most of the day. Brandon, ever thoughtful, offered Avery a sweatshirt he had found in his car (though she later learned he hadn’t planned ahead—it had simply never made it back into his house). Despite the chill, they walked around the island, enjoying each other's company. Not wanting the date to end, they eventually warmed up at the 99 Restaurant, where they talked for hours. During that conversation, Avery knew deep down that Brandon was the one she was going to marry.

From that moment on, the two became inseparable, spending all their free time together and falling more in love as they got to know one another. Just a few months later, Brandon proposed at Castle Island, where they had shared their first date, making the location even more meaningful.

Rather than rushing into marriage, Avery and Brandon decided to take the next step in building a life together. After a month of house hunting, they found their dream home just minutes away from Brandon’s mom and Avery’s aunt and uncle. In a serendipitous turn of events, they received the news that their offer had been accepted on Brandon’s birthday. Moving into their new home was a milestone moment—one of the best days of their lives.

Meet our fur family.

Currently, they’ve settled into life as homeowners, growing stronger as a couple and supporting each other through every challenge. They’ve also added to their little family with two cats and a hedgehog. As they took a few trips together, Avery learned that Brandon’s patience for airports might not be his greatest strength, but his love for her certainly is. Together, they balance each other perfectly, complementing one another’s strengths and weaknesses.
